Brittney Spears the Top Search of 2006? Please No!

Apparently, according to Yahoo, (as much as I don't want to admit it) its true. Brittney Spears is the most searched for on Yahoo. WTF PEOPLE! Why would you search for that pathetic little girl of the 90's? Don't you get it? She was cool but not anymore. She just turned into a whore like the rest of them and we all know whores are not cool. (If you don't believe me you need to go watch LittleLoca on Youtube.) I feel sorry for Brittney's children.

Oh well, at least people didn't repeatedly search for the promiscuous Paris Hilton. Oh, wait! She's Number 5.

Shaken or Stirred? This Bond Doesn't Care

I think the scene actually went something like this.

Bond: I'd like a martini.
Bartender: Shaken or Stirred?
Bond: Like I give a damn.

So last weekend I thought I'd mosie on over to the movies and see the newest installment in the James Bond Series: Casino Royale.

This was my reaction: "Hmm... Its different... Hmm... I like it."

I really liked the movie. It was good. People are so caught up on this new Bond though. But its not so much the actor Daniel Craig as the writers. They are taking the James Bond character in a new direction. I don't think its better or worst than the previous James Bond films, but its definitely still cool. Its a new spin on something classic. But then again, I just wanted to watch a good James Bond film. Or as the new James Bond would say it, "Like I give a damn."

Nintento Wii, Wow

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to test out a Wii. Yes that's right, before it has even been released. I'm just that special.

Anyways, I think its safe to say everyone will absolutely love the Nintendo Wii. And when I say everyone, I mean just that. Nintendo isn't just targeting gamers; they are targeting the whole family with the intuitive controller.

The motion sensing controller called the Wiimote (aka Wii Remote) is pure genius. It takes natural and known movements and integrates them into the game play.

For example, I played WiiSports Boxing. You hold the Wiimote in your right hand and the second part of the controller (called the Nunchuk) in your left. Then you just simply punch like crazy! You can also block by holding your two fists up to your head or your waste. Simple.

The new Nintendo Wii is definitely cool. And the best part is its only $250 and comes with a game (WiiSports)! Nothing compared to the Sony PS3's $500 price tag. (Not to mention a $50 dollar game to even start playing the PS3.) Kids, good luck getting one of those from Santa!

Pink PSP Questionable

Engadget made a perfect analogy to the Pink PSP vs the P!nk PSP: Classy vs Trashy. The regular PSP is cool but not necessarily for girl. I guess this is Sony's lame, lame attempt at rectifying that. How about you save your girlfriend, daughter, or wife some embarrassment and just get them the more pocket-able and intuitive Nintendo DS Lite? Its available in pink too. Besides, P!nk is a well known media whore. Who else can say their face is plastered on so many consumer electronics?

YouTube Invention of the Year: Obvious!

Any teenager could have told you that! Time, please higher some university student to help you keep up with the times.

Another Red iPod

"Customer response to the iPod Nano (Product) Red Special Edition has been off the charts," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing.

So they added an 8GB red nano to 4GB mix. Best of all the iPods are the same price as their regular version and Apple still donates $10 to AIDS.

You are offically deemed cool if you buy one of these. :)

Cool Time Wasters to Fill Your Boring Life

  1. Don't Do Drugs! Kids, I speak from experience; drugs mess... what was I talking about?! Oh well, just check out this optical illusion. Its great fun. However, please use sparingly. (We aren't sure how good this is for your eyes.) Trying it once won't hurt. Just do it. You know you want to. Come-on! Give in to peer pressure!
  2. Take a rubber band and hold it up to a CRT monitor. (Make sure its turned on and preferably has a white background.) Pinch and stretch the band with your left and right hands. Strum/pluck the band with a spare finger. Watch the squiggles!
  3. I love mazes. See if you can beat my average time of 1min 15sec.
  4. You will be the coolest kid in town if you do these in front of people. Seriously. I guarantee you will go from tool to cool in only a day. Don't think. Just read and do, read and do.
  5. If the first four fail to waste enough time, try eating your ear.*
* Don't cut your ear off. Who do you think you are, van Gogh?

50 (Actually 48) Coolest Sites of 2006 by Time

Please, the people at Time Magazine are so out of touch. To me, they seem like a bunch of 40+ old women/men who have no idea what their children do after school.

  1. Yu-Gi-Oh is far, far from cool. (Even for eight year olds.) Maybe last year, maybe, but not now. All the cool kids watch Xiaolin Showdown and The Batman. (No the old Batman is not cool, that's classic. They made a new Batman.)
  2. Myspace?! Cough, COUGH! Hold on one second while I just through up! We already said to get Facebook.
  3. They never listed sofivesecondsago.blogspot.com. That is so not cool.
Other than that, we generally agree with most of Time's choices.

Firefox, now 2.0!

If you aren't using firefox, you are a sad, sad little child. Please download it now and never use Internet Explorer again.

Reasons to get firefox:
  • tabbed browsing
  • built in spell checker
  • safer, because its not made by Microsoft
  • session restore - VERY useful for when your computer crashes
  • skins and add-ons

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

from the that was so five seconds ago blog.

new iPods... meh, new nano supports AIDS... alright!

Wow. New iPods. Yawn. It happens every year. (The new clippy shuffle's kinda neat though.)

Wait! New Red iPod supports AIDS charity? Did I read that right? The company that Greenpeace tags as the fourth worst eco-freindly tech company out there is teaming up with Bono to help AIDS effort?
Apparently, for every iPod nano RED that is sold Apple will donate $10 to the AIDS effort. That's delicious, Apple. Red Delicious.

First Post and Myspace

Hey!

Welcome to the That was so five seconds ago Blog!
Some people just don't keep up on the times. This is for them.
Here's to whats cool and not... and this is not from some creepy forty-year-old either. I'm a teenager and in university. I hope you enjoy the obvious that is to come in future postings.

In Teens' Web World, MySpace Is So Last Year
All I have to say to that is "Well, duh!"

And please, do yourself a favor; ditch MySapce and get Facebook.
P.s. Facebook stops creepy forty-year-olds from stocking you!
